Aoki-Ribeiro, Filho-Manhoef Confirmed for DREAM 10
Lightweights Shinya Aoki and Vitor Ribeiro and middleweights Paulo Filho and Melvin Manhoef will square off at DREAM 10 on July 20th in Saitama, Japan, the promotion announced on Tuesday.
Aoki (20-4), who was originally rumored to be rematching lightweight champion Joachim Hansen on the card, had won three-straight bouts before moving up to welterweight to take on Hayato Sakurai, suffering a TKO loss in just 27-seconds at DREAM 8 in April. An accomplished grappler, Ribeiro (20-2) returned to action in April following a September 2007 loss to Gesias Calvancante, defeating Katsuhiko Nagata via first-round TKO at DREAM 8.
Filho (16-1), a former WEC middleweight champion, checked into rehab for substance abuse following his controversial title defense over Chael Sonnen in late-2007. After missing weight for their rematch, Filho looked unimpressive in suffering a unanimous decision loss to Sonnen in a non-title bout last November. A kickboxer, Mahoef has won six of his last seven bouts, earning all six victories by first-round (T)KO.
DREAM also added a lightweight bout between Katsunori Kikuno and Andre Amade to the July 20th card.

Melvin v Paulo well there are going to be two crazy SOB’s in that ring with one another DREAM.10 is filled with awesome already!
Glad Filho is getting back in the cage. I hope he is in Vegas and his head is really in the game.
DREAM fights in a ring, but I get what you’re saying.
Yeah, my bad…Good catch…Did you see all of 9?
80-85% I was busy at times so I missed the Mousasi fight, and a couple others.
I missed the two main events. I know what happened but I was wondering if you thought they were worth watching…
Well, “Mayhem” v. “Jacare” is up to you, there was at least as much time spent trying to stop “Jacare”’s bleeding as there was fighting. The “Kid” fight I would say is worth it.
Not saying much but I did post 7 of the fights in the FORUM section just saying DAMN
I watched the fights on a replay early Tuesday morning, as soon as they were completed I had various other tasks to complete before heading out of town. Now writing you from the late Evan Tanner’s old stomping grounds.
Thanks for the info…Posting the video is great! I Got up early to watch live and had to head out before the kid and miller fights. Then I logged on to finish watching and to quote Fr702 “Damn”. That no contest took the wind out of my sails. Anyway thanks again…
