Kris how dare you have a life and good priorities! Hope all is well and thanks for the thread I believe we will manage!
I’m going to have to go with the following for the wins.
Rashad Evans
Matt Serra
Drew McFedries
Dan Miller
Frank Edgar
Brock Larson
Tim Hague
Phillipe Nover
Krzysztof Soszynski
Brandon Wolff
George Roop
Should be a good night of fights. Seeing how the “big events” turned out to be so-so, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that these will be great fights
im calling it here right now. serra-hughes is fight of the night, and machida by 3rd round tko midway through the round. that will also be ko of the night, and krystof gets sub of the night for his kimura victory.
My shortlist picks
Machida via TKO late rd 1/early 2nd
Serra via TKO rd 3
Edgar via Decision
Soszynski via KO any round
* Lyoto Machida def. Rashad Evans – split decision
* Matt Serra vs. Matt Hughes – Tool by TKO 2nd (sadly)
* Drew McFedries vs. Xavier Foupa-Pokam – ?

* Andre Gusmao vs. Krzysztof Soszynski – Krz by ummm heel hook? lol
* Brandon Wolff vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida – Yoshida
* George Roop vs. Dave Kaplan – roop.
cool picks. But Machida by split decision? lol How can you be sure that 1 judge will see it differently to the two other judges? lol
Doing well on those picks so far mate!
I say Rashad by Scorpion Deathlock!
so we just tell each other results?
Just a discussion board.
Got a lot of money on this event, one time lol…safe to say this is the most ive been interested in a UFC Card to date
its says it starts at 8 so does anyone know the first fight results?
rashad might win by freaking him out by pinching his nipples…
Nightmare:
Roop takes the split decision in the first fight against Kaplan.
Yoshida chokes Wolff out in the first round of the 2nd bout.
Soszynski KO’s Gusmao in the 1st round of the 3rd fight.(My first pick came in! woohoo lol)
man nover got taken out in round 1 lol
Fight 4 looks to be a controversial one. Im just gonna copy and paste what I am reading.
“Nover tries to clinch, but Bradley shoves him to the ground. Bradley lands a huge right hand and hurts Nover. Nover rolls over and Bradley lands some moderately-sharp right hands. Nover slips onto his face, trying to grab a leg. Referee Yves Lavigne steps in and stops it but Nover rolls over again. Yves backs away but then Bradley lands some more glancing blows. Nover springs right up and there is confusion while Lavigne waves his arms. The fight is over and Nover doesn’t look hurt. The crowd boos rabidly. Replays show Nover wasn’t hurt. Massive gaffe by Lavigne.” Lavigne surly has to go now. The athletic commision can not let him Ref again surly without looking into his thoughts.
Nover and Barry got beat in the first round. I didn’t pick that. Pyle got beat first round by Larson. Good on Larson. I hope him a decent run this time and the rematch with Condit.
i can’t believe Barry lost! Wow…
Ewww I was just catching the MNBC live pre-fight expose and they showed Maschida drinking a glass and a half of his own urine an hour ago. He even had an expression on his face afterwards like he’d just drunk a refreshing drink. I almost upchucked. Evans should punch him in the mouth.
Hey guys is this playing anywhere I can’t get ppv where I”m at (no box)
Robbed. I can’t believe anyone can say that Matt Hughes beat Matt Serra in this fight. He never had Serra in trouble. Serra rocked Hughes (headbutt???…ok) The only offense Hughes had was takedowns. Then he sat on top of him while Serra waited for a stand-up. Ok…I’m pissed…HAHA.
Welcome to the Machida era. Also whoever is coaching Sean Sherk needs to be fired theres no reason he should have kept the fight standing, he made the same mistakes he made in the Penn fight thinking he has great boxing skills when he doesnt.
i felt so bad for rashad losing… he showed great heart, but no balls…
he was wrong in listening to his coach. he should have trusted his instincts and just went in agressively and forced Machada to ‘trade’.
Rashad is stronger and a better wrestler. Machida runs away from trading.
Machida’s secret? he mainly punches EXACTLY WHEN HIS OPPONENT GOES IN.
instead of expected stepping BACK, like most normal fighters do, he goes in at that exact moment, hits a few and steps back.
So, what I would do, I’d pretend to punch, causing him to counter-punch, AND THEN I WOULD TRY A TAKE-DOWN…
i’m curious what u people think about such tactic…
somebody pleez try to clinch with machida and force him to ground and pound. he’s one sneaky, peee-drinking sneak… (meaning no disrespect)
the urine thing is not that unusual on other continents but i think in a way machida is foriegn to people here and in fact rashad seemed tentative looking due to the mystique. sure, lyoto is amazing and makes great fighters look crappy but i agree with whover said he shouldn’t ahve listened to his trainer and just gone and forced trading. while the risk of getting tagged is high the risk of trading from a distance and eventually getting picked apart is HIGHER. fedor a chess player, maybe it’s russian or whtever, but if you attack albeit cautiously but with strategy you force your opponent to respond in defense. easy to say I know. but still. like in the arlovski fight fedor kept stalking a in arlovskis face forcing, forcing, i don’t think rashad really attempted any such thing, and not to take away from machida’s genius but i think rashad lost as much as lyoto beat him.
Amen to that
look for BJ PENN vs Machida. BJ gave a good fight, some even think he should have won that fight. but at least he gave as good as he got. he has even submitted Machida and did some ground and pound. I’m pretty sure that without time limits he might have won that fight.
On the other hand, Rashad was listening to his trainer and refused to step in to the trading situation. Watch the BJ fight. BJ had no trouble stepping in and clinching with Lyotto.
maybe Rashad was afraid of getting a urine breath
