Anderson Silva Is More Interested In Fighting Nick Diaz Than Chris Weidman

Andrew Ravens

Nick Diaz

Former UFC middleweight Champion Anderson was asked a few question, but he kept it brief when talking to Brazilian media. Check it out below:

“A rematch with Chris Weidman isn’t in my plans. He has already beat me twice, everybody saw that. Lyoto Machida will have his opportunity, Ronaldo Souza is walking on his path.”

Chris Weidman (11-0) Has five knockouts, three submissions and 3 decision victories. Prior to joining the UFC, he was on a four fight winning streak.

Weidman is set to face Lyoto Machida this Saturday night at UFC 175.

What about Nick Diaz?

“Hey, if everybody is saying that this is a good fight, what can I say? I think that it could be too.”

Nate Diaz has a 17-9 MMA record and is 2-2 out of his last four. He beat Jim Miller, he then lost to Benson Henderson and then Josh Thomson back to back. In his last fight he beat Gray Maynard last November.

His comeback?

“I’m only fighting again next year. I’m not ready and it’s not safe for myself to fight before that.”
