There was a game on New Grounds called the EMO game, and the premise of the game was that all EMO bands had ovaries, and they would cause the bands to fall apart after three albums, therefore protecting the genre. Jimmy Eat World had removed their ovaries and were then able to continue producing successful albums, and the game was to try to kill them before they ruined EMO, or something like that.

EMO was great when it was bands like Sunny Day Real Estate (Jeremy Enigk), Promise Ring, and Shift. Then Jimmy Eat World pretty much destroyed that good idea.

Yeah, sorry... not a fan of Limp Bizkit or Slipknot. Personally I think Fred Durst is a jerk, and their sham of a guitarist search solidified that in my mind. They made the guys that were "trying out" play original music, which they recorded, then sign over the rights to that music... pretty lame.

I'll admit, I liked LB when they first came out, but I got over that pretty quickly. Slipknot I first liked their style of music, but when I heard more of it, and more of what they were about as people I lost interest.

Rap/Metal Pioneers?...how long did THAT trend last?? How do you become labeled as a pioneer for something that died as quickly as it was born.

Also, great Ghostbusters reference Vinz. Ray Parker Jr. was a pioneer in ripping off Huey Lewis music.

Slipknot will always be hardcore, regardless of what you say. Clearly you haven't seen them on tour with 3 inches of Blood and Trivium this year, which I must say, as a fan of theirs since their debut in 99, was one of their heavier concerts. In the 8 times I've seen, I've yet to be disappointed. And although their new album isn't as heavy as their others, it's still a sick mother f'n album. I wonder, Mike G, when you last saw them live.
