Brown Follows Johnson, Withdraws From TUF 9 Finale
Welterweight Matt Brown has joined original opponent Anthony Johnson, withdrawing from The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale on Wednesday to allow “nagging injuries” additional time to heal.
MMAjunkie was first to confirm the news with sources close to the bout and both Brown and Johnson have been dropped from the event’s official card.
Johnson withdrew from the 170-pound bout on Tuesday after suffering a knee injury in training.
Brown and Johnson’s exit from the card opens up a fifth slot on the Spike TV broadcast main card, which currently features The Ultimate Fighter 9 lightweight and welterweight finals, Clay Guida vs. Diego Sanchez, and Nate Diaz vs. Joe Stevenson. Unless another main card worthy bout is booked before the June 20 event in Las Vegas, Kevin Burns vs. Chris Lytle or Melvin Guillard vs. Gleison Tibau is likely to be bumped up to the main card.

I think the guillard-tibau fight should be bumped up to the main card. I think that would be a good fight. hopefully the injuries AJ and Brown suffered are not serious enough to hold them back from action for a few months.
I don’t want to see Melvin Guillard as a Main Event fight.
Even without the Brown v. AJ fight there’s still 4 good fights to fill out the two hour TV time slot. The two TUF Final fights, plus Guida v. Sanchez and Stephenson v. Diaz.
