Martin Kampmann vs. TJ Grant Likely for TUF 9 Finale

A welterweight bout between Martin Kampmann and TJ Grant is likely to be added to The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale on June 20th in Las Vegas.
Grant revealed the bout earlier today on Facebook.
Kampmann (15-2), a former middleweight contender who dropped to the welterweight division following a September 2008 drubbing to Nate Marquardt, has won back-to-back fights at 170-pounds overAlexandre Barros and Carlos Condit.
A TKO and King of the Cage veteran, Grant made his Octagon debut in April at UFC 97, defeating Ryo Chonan by split decision. Like Kampmann, Grant has lost just two professional fights.

This should be a layup for kampman, compared to that war with Condit, fights like that realy help season a fighter. I saw Grant fight in montreal the guys game, but i think he will just get overwhelmed by kampman on the feat. Grant will want this fight on the ground but i doubt he’l be ble to get it there. I think this is a big fight for TJ and was expecting kampman to be fighting someone a bit higher ranked, but looking at the division right now it seems like everyones booked or injured. Plus their probably trying to build kampman up as another contender cause were gonna need one after the GSP and Alvez fight.
i totally agree dude. I saw kampmann fighting someone like swick or kos. But swicks fighting and kos is injured. It seems as though sometimes the ufc takes care of certain dudes, michael *cough* bisping…the only difference is that kampann isn’t overrated like bisping. I hope kampann keeps winning cuz he’s a sik fighter and a great addition the the ww division.
After alves vs gsp it’s hard to pick a #1 contender. Maybe fitch again? nah we don’t need to see a beating that bad again!
You could tell they were trying to set Kos up for a title shot with all the fighters they were feeding him. so much for that. but ya its hard to tell who would get the next shot im thinking swick(if he beats saunders) or the winner of swick vs someone(kampan or Rmble whenor if he returs.
kampmann is def gonna win he looks great at 170 but i dnt think hes got a chance against gsp….nobody does lol
Not gonna happen… Kampmann has refused the fight as its not good for his career .. he wants a higher ranked fighter
