Sengoku Featherweight GP Semis Set
Sengoku will be holding the semi-final, and final rounds of its Featherweight tournament on August 2nd in Japan, at an as yet unannounced venue. One of the match-ups will be Marlon Sandro facing off against two fight UFC competitor Michihiro Omigawa, according to a report by Tatame. By process of elimination that means that the other semi-final bout will be Hatsu Hioki vs. Masanori Kanehara. Sandro made his way to the semi-finals with first and second tournament round victories over Matt Jaggers and Nick Denis respectively, improving his perfect record to 14-0 along the way. His opponent, Omigawa, earned his semi-final spot by defeating LC Davis at Sengoku 7, and TKOing Nam Phan at Sengoku 8, bringing his record to 6-7-1.
Hioki earned his semi-final slot by defeating Chris Manuel and Ronnie Mann, both via first round triangles. Kanehara made his way to the semi-finals with decision victories over Jong Man Kim and Chan Sung Jung.
