It was not the homecoming that Andre Arlovski was looking for at UFC 174. Maybe nerves got the better of him or maybe Brendan Schaub was just the better fighter Saturday night. Either way, Arlovski was being talked about more of his past than what he did in this fight. He never landed anything that was a significant or anything damaging.
However, with some much controversy this one will bring, here is the decision:

Andrei Arlovski (21-10) will be making his return to the UFC in this fight. He has 15 knockouts, 3 submissions and 3 decision victories in his MMA career. He is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. He has beaten some of the biggest names in the sport with wins over Tim Sylvia, Fabricio Werdum and Roy Nelson. He left the UFC in 2008 with a win over Jake O’Brien via TKO at UFC 82 in 2008. Since leaving the UFC he has a record of 8-5-1. In his last five fights, he is 4-1. In his last three fights he is 2-1. He lost to Anthony Johnson via unanimous decision at WSOF 2 – Arlovski vs. Johnson on Mar / 23 / 2013.
However, he won his last two fights with wins over Mike Kyle via unanimous decision at WSOF 5 – Arlovski vs. Kyle on Sep / 14 / 2013 and then Andreas Kraniotakes in November of 2013 via TKO.
Brendan Schaub (10-3) Has seven knockouts, one submission and two decision victories, he has been knocked out three times. He made his UFC debut against Roy Nelson which he lost by first round knockout at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale on Dec / 05 / 2009.
He would then go on a four fight winning streak until he lost to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via KO at UFC 134 – Silva vs. Okami
Aug / 27 / 2011 and then another loss against Ben Rothwell via KO at UFC 145 – Jones vs. Evans Apr / 21 / 2012.
In his last two fights, he is a perfect 2-0. He beat Lavar Johnson via unanimous decision at UFC 165 – Jones vs. Gustafsson on Sep / 21 / 2013 and then Matt Mitrione via submission at UFC 157 – Rousey vs. Carmouche on Feb / 23 / 2013.
