Fighters Medically Suspended After UFC Fight Night 40 – Details

After several finishes (6 kos) UFC Fight Night 40 had some fighters that are going to need to take a break from the octagon.

After Matt Brown def. Erick Silva by TKO in the main event, Silva was stretchered out of the octagon, but was later said to be OK, he has been suspended for 60 days and additionally suspended indefinitely unless the doctor clears jaw.

Brown has been suspended for 45 days and additionally suspended indefinitely unless the doctor clears right elbow

  • Ruan Potts: Suspended for 60 days
  • Ed Herman: Suspended 30 days; additionally, suspended indefinitely unless the doctor clears right hand
  • Eddie Wineland: Suspended 60 days for TKO loss and stitches in the lip area. Also suspended indefinitely without doctor’s clearance for possible broken jaw
  • Johnny Eduardo: Suspended 30 days for unsportsmanlike conduct for throwing his mouthpiece into the stands
  • Manny Gamburyan: Suspended indefinitely and needs ophthalmologist to the clear right eye
  • Ben Wall: Suspended for 60 days
  • Anthony Lapsley: Suspended for 60 days
