wow… even more boring then Dana’s blog..

  • Matt Serra:

…I feel he did a great job when he was in “The Ultimate Fighter-The Comeback” He was almost an un-officlal coach to the guys on his team, even Shonie Carter who knocked him out. He showed true coaching skills and a great underdog spirit.

…when he beat George St. Pierre he did something so massive,i don’t think can be topped, meaning that: St. Pierre had just dominated Matt Hughes for the title which was a big deal because many were saying that GSP is the future of the Weltereight division and that his victory over Hughes was a “torch” being passed. George St. Pierre was supposed to now dominate the 170 division for a while with no problems, but Matt Serra who was “just a guy getting one more shot” completely altered history by destroying GSP. It became the biggest upset in MMA history. Serra had reached the top in the best way possible ever in MMA. Unfortunately his true persona surfaced at the time of his shortlived title rain, which made fans like myself look at him in a different way. Yes he beat St. Pierre in one of the greated moments in MMA history, but somewhat overshadowed that with his new foun beef with Matt Hughes.

My point of this is that Matt Serra could have been the good guy underdog who “lives” forever as the “hero” that did the impossible, but completely mess that up. He could have been “Buster Douglas”, “Rudy” who defied the odds as well, he just could have been remebered in a better way.

Now most of us want to see him get beat down by Matt Hughes and don’t really care about his vicotry over GSP because of all of his $hit talking and unprofessionalism as the former champ.

Here’s a guy that messed up any chance at even the tinyest legacy.

Matt Hughes by tko or sub

i think its good for his legacy. before matt serra not many people called out matt hughes for being a giant douche.

even though matt serra is annyoing and kind of a jerk-off, he at least had it in him to call a spade a spade even though at the time hughes was no. 2 and he was one TUF: The Comeback.

So basically what your saying is, “It’s the pot calling the kettle black, but at least the pot had the nerve to do so,”?

shave and a piss test… good work matt

I have become a big Matt Serra fan. I am a country boy from NC and Matt Hughes to me is a cocky douche. I am glad Serra called him out and I’m looking forward to watching Serra KO’ing him in the first round. Great blogs Matt! Look forward to the next one…the terror reigns!

I honestly dont think that he’s that great of a fighter.. yeah he did beat GSP but it did look like Georges slipped a few times… maybe he just got caught.. but in the second showdown it was GSP all the way (even though he does that to everyone nowadays) but other then that he really doesnt have any big wins. everyone’s saying that he’s going to KO Matt even though he doesnt have one win by knock out. in my opinion he’s overrated.
