The Lightweights will go to battle when Ildemar Alcantara (20-6 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Argentinian Santiago Ponzinibbio (18-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) has been added to UFC 175 in Las Vegas.
Ildemar Alcantara has 10 knockouts, 6 submissions and 4 decision victories in his MMA career. He has been knocked out twice, while never submitted. He made his UFC debut against Wagner Prado and won the fight via 2nd Rd kneebar in January of 2013. He then went onto to be Leandro Silva via Unanimous Decision in June of that same year. However, he lost to Igor Araujo back in October and lost via Unanimous Decision. In his last fight he faced and defeated Albert Tumenov this past February.
UFC 175 takes place July 5 at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center. The Main Card will be on PPV, while Prelims will be on Fox Sports 1 and Fight Pass.
Santiago Ponzinibbio has ten knockouts, 6 submissions and 2 decision victories in his MMA career. He has only been finished once and that was from a knockout. Prior to joining the UFC in June of 2013, he was on a seven fight winning streak. He faced Ryan LaFlare and lost via Unanimous Decision. He looks to get back into the Win Column after this fight.
The headlining fight will be Chris Weidman takes on Lyoto Machida for the Middleweight title.
