Former UFC Fighter To Make WSOF Debut At WSOF 11

July’s WSOF 11 event has added a third bout  to the card today by officials. This fight will be the debut of longtime UFC contender Melvin Guillard.

Guillard (31-13-2) will fight fellow lightweight Gesias Cavalcante (18-7-1) at the summer event.

Guillard has 20 knockouts, 2 submissions and 9 decision victories in his MMA career. He has been knocked out once and submitted nine times. While in the UFC he has three knock out of the night awards and two fight of the night awards. “The Young Assassin” has not been getting a lot of wins as of late. In his last four fights he has gone 3-2-1. He lost to Jamie Varner via split decision back in December of 2012, he got a win over Mac Danzig via KO in July of 2013. He was involved in a no contest fight with Ross Pearson in October and his last fight was against Michael Johnson which he lost via unanimous decision.

Cavalcante has 6 knockouts, 8 submissions and 4 decision victories in his MMA career. He has been knocked out twice in his career. This will be his fourth WSOF appearance. He has gone 2-2 in his last four fights. He made his WSOF debut in November of 2012 and won via heel hook against T.J. O’Brien. He lost to Justin Gaethje via doctor stoppage in March of 2013. In his last fight he beat Tyson Griffin in a 3rd TKO victory back in August.

WSOF 11 takes place July 5, and the main card airs on NBC Sports Network.
