Maybe Gurgel will use his Jits and win this fight…. nah probably not.
lol, love it!
I have to say I completely agree. I have never seen such an accomplished grappler who refuses to grapple. I wonder if his black belt in jits is really a white belt that is just really dirty? Gurgel is Franklins jits coach is he not? And he refuses to use it and win fights.
That being said he is still a lot of fun to watch fight.
His belt is legit, he just “wants to be exciting” so he stands and bangs instead of using his Jits. IMO, great Jits work is equally exciting as standup. I also think great Jits work is more exciting than average standup in a losing effort form a great Jits guy.

A 16-12 fighter is headlining? Granted, I may not know all that much about this cyborg character, but that seems pretty weak…
This is along the lines of Strikeforce’s equivalent to a UFC “Fight Night” on Spike, and I think it’s a bit more about Villasenor than Santos.
