Krzysztof Soszynski Booked To Fight Andre Gusmao at UFC 98
With Houston Alexander sidelined due to a broken hand, fellow light heavyweight Krzysztof Soszynski has been booked to fight Andre Gusmao at the May 23rd pay-per-view event in Las Vegas.
The matchup, which is slated for the unaired preliminary card, was officially confirmed today by the UFC.
An IFL, Strikeforce, and TKO veteran, Soszynski (17-8-1) enters the bout on a five fight win streak that includes back-to-back UFC victories over Shane Primm and Brian Stann.
Gusmao (5-1) had won five consecutive fights to begin his career before suffering a unanimous decision loss to Jon Jones in August in his UFC debut.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYES!!!!
Nice! Just wish this was on the main card so I could see it. Anyone know any ways to get these prelims? All i know are the UFC Vault stuff for like $3.00 a pop.
Hope that the prelim and main card fights all end in the first round.
Usually the prelims are posted free the week after at ufc.com so you just gotta make sure to visit the site on monday, that’s been the history with the past few fights anyways
Soszynskighsiodski is coming back for that kimura, “thats his thing, he tries for it everytime”.. Well Andre isn’t Brian Stann tho soo hopefully he has been working on other things.. This should be a good fight, way to step to the plate Krzysztof
I like this decision for the polish experiment gets back to action. (good spelling FR) hopefully he doesnt rely on the kimura this time, but why mess with success? that sub has worked for him really well. if he wins, maybe he gets a tough fighter next time (thiago silva, jardine the sardine, maybe rich, maybe a rematch with jon jones). this guy is an up and coming fighter and I would like to see him fight legit guys at 205.
Hell maybe if he keeps winning he can finish that supid a$$ tatoo on his back. Thing just looks like he got wax poured down his back.
If he keeps taking fights on short notice he won’t have time to get it worked on. 1. It takes time to get it worked on. 2. It has to heal after that.
Much better fight than the original.
Andre Gusmao lucked out cuz my boy Houston was about to bring Nebraska back into the building!
Until the :59 mark of the first, at which point he gets carried out. Again.
Jon chubby bones jones needs to fight again.
Krzysztof da man!!!!! Anyone else know of any other UFC fighters in recent histroy (ie, since the UFC has been doing once a month ppvs) to do two in a row?
Someone did it last year – stepping in two PPVs in a row but I can’t think who it was. I just remember thinking that was a good way to get an extra chance should you lose: bail the UFC out on short notice, it sort of can be a bit of a bargaining chip come cut time.
Just had a brain storm- how about a MMA show with fighters from different styles- I’d love a real mongolian wrestler vs. a shaolin monk etc. any sponsors ?
And that came from where?
