Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz remains on the sidelines, recovering from a groin injury that knocked him out of a February fight with Renan Barao.
After two knee surgeries, the groin issue was just the latest in a long line of problems “The Dominator” has ran into since appearing on The Ultimate Fighter as a coach.
Cruz was scheduled to meet Urijah Faber, but suffered the first knee injury. He rehabilitated, but the surgery did not take and he was forced to go back under the knife.
Earlier this year, with a unification bout lined up vs. Barao, Cruz went down yet again. The UFC decided to strip him of his title, and he went back into the recovery room.
On Twitter recently, Cruz posted a message on his status, stating that he is “building (and) building” and that he “will be back in full form.” Some rumors have mentioned this summer for a potential return to the cage for the fighter.
Actions will speak louder than my words-rehab,2 sprints.building n building.Better n better.I WILL b back in full form.Thanx 4 ur patience
