that is possibly the best submission I have seen. It was sick, and unique. how the hell did the ref not see the guy pass out? he was right in front of him. Very sweet submission.
wow … I think I watched that 4-5 times before I could even comment. Amazing.
What that clip doesn’t show is that Imada was getting handled easily for the entire fight to that point. That was the most offense he was able to muster. His reward? Eddie Alvarez in the finals.
Also, I think we made every variation of swine flu jokes possible.
He was going toe-to-toe with Masvidal for the entire fight, knowing that Masvidal’s game was to use his jabs and reach to keep him at bay until he achieved a decision win. He took the BEST that Masvidal could give; yet Masvidal was not able to knock him out or TKO Toby Imada. Granted, Masvidal is probably the best fighter in Florida and one of the very best in the world, but once Toby Imada was able to momentarily get past Masvidal’s game and engage successfully, it was all over. The lock was cinched-in at 31 seconds, and by 38 seconds, Masvidal was beginning to pass out, without really realizing what was happening to him. Wow!!!! Epic!!!

That was an extremely sick submission. I don’t know how well he will fare in the finals against Alvarez, but Imada will always be remembered for that crazy inverted backwards triangle.

Yeah dude this submission was bad ass ****. When are we ever going to see a triangle like that again? Kudos to Masvidal for not tapping and for allowing this thing of beauty to unfold the way it did.
This is for sure one of the best or problably the best sub i’ve ever seen. The guy went to sleep on his feet. sick, we’ll never see that again
