Herman in for Okami Against Miller at UFC 98

Ed Herman has been selected to replace an injured Yushin Okami against Dan Miller at UFC 98 on May 23rd in Las Vegas.
The news, which comes via MMA Weekly, is a bit disappointing considering the UFC promised an “awesome replacement challenger”.
Herman (15-6) is just 4-4 in eight UFC bouts, dropping back-to-back fights Demian Maia and Alan Belcher before evening his record with a unanimous decision victory over David Loiseau at UFC 97 earlier this month.
Miller (11-1), a former IFL middleweight champion, is on the rise in the UFC’s 185-pound division with three-straight victories inside the octagon over Rob Kimmons, Matt Horwich, and Jake Rosholt.

I am definitely not looking forward to this replacement match-up at all. I hope this gets moved to the pre-lims and they bring another fight onto the ppv.
haha ed herman never really liked the guy, every time i hear his name it reminds me back when he was in tuf house and i think randy was fighting chuck and herman was kissin randys ass summat bad and i remember thinking what a suck up! miller will make SHORT work of SHORT fuse (see what i did there)

hmmm, ed herman is the awesome replacement? not to bash him, but he isnt awesome. I would have liked to see nate quarry get to replace okami, maybe even jason macdonald, but herman? I dont see why he was the “awesome replacement”. had the tweet said there would be a replacement, instead of what it really said then no problems. I like the comment johnboy. it made me laugh, and MK4 you are correct this is a wrong use of awesome.

The only thing I can think of is that there is another Ed Herman that the UFC has had in isolation training him to be a badass waiting for the perfect moment to release him. However if thats not the case and its the same Ed Herman of TUF fame then this replacement is weak
Was hoping vitor maybe signed back with ufc. I think seeing Jorge Rivera fight Dan Miller still would’ve been more “awesome” than short fuse
