Last night’s card at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas witnessed a fantastic main event that saw top welterweight contenders Robbie Lawler and Johny Hendricks vie for the vacant title. The pay-per-view card would see hometown fighter Johny Hendricks pick up the belt with a dramatic fifth round rally.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is expected to confirm last night’s numbers later this week.
While the amount of compensated tickets has yet to be revealed, the numbers are still higher than the UFC’s last trip to Dallas for UFC 103. That event, headlined by a bout between Vitor Belfort and Rich Franklin, saw an attendance of 17,428 for a $2.4 million gate.
